Biography:
Associate Professor of health systems and nursing management at Mutah University in Jordan. Based at Faculty of Nursing and an affiliate faculty member in the Faculty of Medicine. Dr. Alnawafleh received his PhD from the University of Nottingham / UK in nursing studies, post doctoral scholar in the same university and another postdoctoral appointment at Michigan University Ann Arbor, USA. He became a nurse in 1992 after working in tourism. currently supports the WHO as a consultant for noncommunicable diseases integration into primary health care. During 2019 -2021 he finished a consultation for WHO to measure and improve PHC in Jordan. Also, during 2021 finished a consultation for American University in Cairo to integrate social determinants of health into health information systems. Previously, after earning his BSN degree, he became a critical care nurse specializing in coronary care. He had worked with clients of all ages in various hospitals, emergency care facilities, clinics, medical wards, and private practices. Whether in the role of staff nurse, supervisor, director, consultant, or teacher, his nursing practice of care focuses on the individuals and groups’ health. After earning a clinical instructor’s diploma, he started training and teaching nurses in the service and teaching students in the community college system. Ahmad became an assistant professor at the University of Mutah, Faculty of Nursing, where he taught for 6 years in the undergraduate and graduate programs of nursing, women and child health and public health management. Then Promoted to associate professor in 2015. His research has focused on nursing management, health policy, public health, patient safety, decision making, primary health services and staffing issues. He had presented on these topics at numerous conferences. His abiding passion continues to focus on the recognition and amelioration of staffing and policies, wherever it exists. He currently lives in Mutah, Jordan, where he works as an academic and writes about health, leadership, policy, and nursing.
