Biography:
I have been active researcher since 1989 when I joined as a scientist the Chemical Lab. at CSIR-CLRI, Chennai. After my Ph.D. from the department of Crystallography and Biophysics, University of Madras, I was a scientist at the Max-Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry, Gottingen, Germany (1983-1984, 1986-1989) and had a year of post-doctoral experience at the Department of Biophysics University of Groningen, The Netherlands. In CLRI, I established a research group on colloid and surface science and continued working in Biophysical chemistry. Her work tries to understand the structure and dynamics of biomolecules at different surfaces and interfaces and has been developing new experimental tools to address the underlying complexity and mechanisms. I has played key role during my tenure as a chief scientist and now as an emeritus scientist in CSIR-CLRI and has been frequently invited to provide expert opinion on gender biases within STEM fields, and on equity and inclusion practices within academic work places at the Universities and Institutes .
