Biography:
I am a neuroscientist who has been working in Puerto Rico for 18 years. I have an active lab of about 15 people working on neural mechanisms of fear extinction. We use a variety of techniques including single-unit recording in behaving rats, pharmacological inactivation, immunocytochemistry, brain stimulation, and optogenetics. Our work is funded by NIMH. I serve on several committees focused on promoting neuroscience in developing countries.
