Creado por Andy Nobes | 5 de Junio de 2023  | Resources Online courses Facilitation skills

In 2020 we developed and released an online course, ''Facilitating Events and Courses in an Online World', as a resource for those 'pivoting to online' during the full force of the travel restrictions imposed during the COVID pandemic. Over 130 people have taken this course since the release, with positive feedback.

In the context of changing online learning technology, skills and expectations in the post-COVID world and after reviewing feedback from course participants, we reviewed and updated our materials to improve this resource. We piloted a new version of the course in 2022 and this is now available to take as a free self-study course!

This course worked well for me in every aspect. The course gave me not only first academic knowledge in online course facilitating but also grounding and invaluable tips in learning and teaching adults in intercultural context! –- Course participant, Mali

What's covered in the course?

The tutorial consists of four units. You can join any time and stay enrolled in the tutorial for as long as you like. However, we recommend that you complete the tutorial within 4 weeks of joining.

  • Unit 1. Introduction to facilitating learning and active participation online
  • Unit 2. Designing and planning synchronous online events
  • Unit 3. Facilitating synchronous online events
  • Unit 4. Facilitating asynchronous online courses

To get maximum benefit from the tutorial, you should plan to spend about 2–3 hours per unit on reading, completing the activities and reflecting. We suggest that you go through the units sequentially, as each unit builds upon the previous one.

Please enrol at the Learn @ INASP website here: https://learn.inasp.info/enrol/index.php?id=301

A certificate will be generated automatically once you have met the completion criteria. You can download this certificate from the tutorial homepage. You will also be awarded a digital badge – this can help towards qualifying as a listed AuthorAID Facilitator.

We look forward to seeing many of you complete the course, and to hearing your feedback!
